Breitling Chronomat Evolution - any good?
Discussion
I'm 90% certain that I'll buy this watch in the next few days (I've found a month old one white dial for £2400 which I think is a reasonable price).
Question for you PH watch buffs - is this a good model (in the same way a Rolex Daytona holds value etc). I know little of Breitlings, but I like this watch. I suppose my real question is, what are the most popular Breitling models with people in the know. Probably won't matter either way, as I always believe if you like something....well, you know.
Tips appreciated (and if anyone knows where I would get a better deal). This watch is with a dealer on the Strand btw.

The evolution is the amalgamation of the Crosswind, Crosswind Racing and possibly Chronomat models. I just sold my 3yr old racnig with UTC for a little over that - which in my opinion I let go for too little.
A word of advice - if you want a Breitling that will lose little get a classic Navitimer, other people on the watch forums will be able to direct you towards models to look out for.
In my opinion 2400 is a lot, I just spoke to a watch dealer abuot this in Germany the other day - if I were you call up a big dealer in Paris or anywhere else in mainland Europe and ask them for a price on that exact model. I bet you could get it for less - without even knowing what they go for new.
The dealer was telling me how he rang for a price in london, paris and monaco for five watches at a similar price point - in most cases london dealers were giving proces 40% higher than there french buddies
worth thinking about.

Haggle.
When I bought my B1 (mid 2001) I was told by several jewellers that there was a waiting list for S/S ith Black face (some were quoting 12m wait)
I dealt with my local Breitling dealer, and said I wanted one, would pay in whavever method suited them best (so no merchant fees)
and they gave me 10% off, and a watch at the end of the month. Result.
What have you got to lose?
