I never knew that Sinn made them when they bought up Breitling bankrupt stock in 1979. Ollech & Wajs too. Anyone ever heard of this anywhere?

Yes, its quite well known.

I think O&W bought the stock and Sinn some of the designs.

If you can get an O&W "Navitimer" it will be genuine original Breitling parts.

I know Sinn bought the Logarithmic scale design. The movement in some Sinn 'Navitimers' is a Valjoux 7750 so that's easy to get hold of. Although the Sinn is possibly a better made watch, to me it's not a Navitimer.

Like 'em or not the Breitling Navitimer is an iconic watch. To me, the others are still just copies.

I agree completely. As I said technically the Sinn 'Navitimer' is a great watch, except that Breitling made the Navitimer first.

To me, Sinn have just made a copy which is a shame as they seem to be pioneering some interesting stuff elsewhere.

But you said "the others" are still copies. To my mind the only ones that aren't are the O&Ws (as they are made from original Breitling parts/stock), and I include the current Breitlings in that, though to be clear I don't know the detail of the legal position - I'm sure they are all perfectly entitled to make whatever they make. I guess pre-liquidation Breitlings would also count.
