How tough is acrylic?
Discussion
I'm toying with the idea of a Sinn 356 Flieger and I see choices of acrylic or saphire fronts (and backs). How tough is acrylic in the real world?
Now I'm some sort of lumberjack type that could be smashing my wrist (and watch) around on a daily basis, but this would be a daily wearer. My current watch (Seiko Kinetic with saphire front) has lasted well but I don't know whether I need to go for the saphire version if I drive a desk most of the time.
Any suggestions?

sapphire very hard but is more brittle and is more likely to crack/smash than acrylic. It also suffers from reflection probs. Acrylic is 'clearer' less likely to crack but more likely to scratch, but trhse are fairly easy to polish out.
Sapphire is also more expensive.
I would choose sapphire every time as I have never had a problem and I have had sapphire 20 years or so and done everything in it.
