I like the Planet Ocean. They're about £1800 with the bracelet. There are two sizes depending on how big your wrists are.

You could perhaps also get the rubber diving strap and leather strap with the 'saving' (from £2500) to have some variety.

£2500 will get you a huge variety of great watches new or second hand.

Agree the planet ocean, i bought one last year to replace my Brietling, very pleased with it, nice and simple but distigiuished, the new chronograph is out now and well worth a look at retails at £2950 but I am sure you will find it cheaper if you shop around.

I love the Planet ocean, its stunning. I prefer the 45mm black with white numbers

Look at the 2nd hand market as well - there is some nice stuff out there and with £2500 you are into the lower end of some of the really nice high end ones.

eg

http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&go... JLC Master Compressor

http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&go... - I would be willing to kill for this Blancpain - simply stunning and well under budget

http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&go... - GP Seahawk if you want something chunky and water resistent

all with complications

I had the same query and ended up on an IWC Pilot’s Watch Chrono-Automatic. Well, when I get time to actually go shopping for it.

Thanks for all the advice - had a look at a Rolex sub but thought it looked a tad too small on me, so i have just bought myself a Omega Seamaster Co-axial Chronometer.Love it.
