Do you expect someone here to sell you one or something? Why would someone here try to sell you a fake one?

Interested to see Bi-metals coming back. The new ones look best in red gold, IMHO.

Not too sure if many dealers are actually on here - we tend to be enthusiasts. Not that I'm saying... oh, never mind.

A reputable dealer contacted me after I enquired about discounts on new IWCs. So they are out there.

I bought my dad a bi-metal daytona. he's got dark/olive type skin and it looks sooo right on him. Stainless wouldn't suit him and the solid gold would be a touch over the top. Bi-Metals ARE making a comeback.

Not judging by the discounts you can get.

For some people the bi-metal watches no doubt appeal, however for the majority I suspect the understated look of the stainless steel/white gold watches is preferable. A case of less is more.

I have the GMT2 in black /gold bi-metal. Looks less blingy than the blue/gold bi-metal and does the job for me. Understated enough to wear everdat, looks good with a suit on.

Tomtom, are you able to say what the IWC dealer said about discounts? I'm after a JLC MkXVI Pilots watch so am interested. Please email me if you don't want to put it on the forum. Cheers.

as the title says really guys.

gold president or daytona or poss bimetal. don't mind about diamonds either way.

needless to say i would want to have it verified at a dealership etc etc before parting with my hard earned so nothing dodgy please guys.

not wanting to pay dealer prices
You can certainly buy safely from a private seller, as long as you know exactly what you are buying and you know exactly who you are buying from. Do you your home work, know the watch you want and ask all the right questions.
Having said that, there are dealers and there are dealers same as the motor trade. Some guys are looking for maximum return on every sale, others prefer a lower mark up and regular repeat business.
Have fun.
