For anyone who is interested, I just got back this morning from Dubai and I had another look around whilst I was out there. No Stainless Steel Daytonas to be found (although I wasn't exactly digging around everywhere), but they were doing an ok deal on Submariners etc at the Airport- it worked out around GBP 2400 which is about 300 quid saving (on the basis you just wear it and don't pay VAT, ahem)- but I decided it just isn't worth it, so will just buy one from the place i've got my name down for a Daytona in the UK...!

I didn't find them much cheaper in Dubai apart from losing the tax. TBH, I think Rolex are good at controlling prices internationally.
