I've had mine (Black face, plain black strap) for a couple of years now. It keeps reasonable time. I where it most of the time and it's bulky, so it gets bashed about.

Only problem I've got is that the fly-back second hand goes back to 3secs position rather than exact top. I can't remember when I first noticed this! Not sure if this is cos I let the chrono run most of the time (not sure if it's best to have it stopped more of the time) - perhaps someone more knowledgable will be able to advise?

I still think it looks distinctive, but there are lots more similar (large, square etc) cheaper watches out there now.

The Monaco isn't the most robust watch in the world, some of them have plastic glass which can scratch easily but are cheap to replace and slight scratches can be polished out. But any of this is made up for by it being one of the most Iconic watches due to it's connection with Steve McQueen. The movements are cheap to fix if anything does go wrong outside of the two year warranty so I wouldn't worry to much!

Shentodj, sounds as if the hand has just sliped on the shaft and is not a big deal. If you want it sorted look at my website. Having said that, running the chrono all the time does put added wear/strain on the movement.

Cheap watch which is obviously "influenced by" the Monaco:

thanks for the replies. i'v always liked them but don't know if i can justify the price if its going to damage easily or break. also is it a bit flashy for work (i work in sales- don't want to give the impression i earn too much)

Not too sure on tags but i have a nautica that you can pull out the adjust bezzel fully. then press the top button and it will re adjust the flyback second hand.

try it, it might work.

That should work with most chronographs...........

Just tried as you suggested. Only the Minute hand moves, the second hand stops dead.
Thanks anyway,

I know with my nautica if you pull it out fully and use the other buttons it will move other parts.

If A is the top buttong and B is the bottom one try a combo.

for my nautica you have to push B first before you can use A - i hope that makes sense.

Also, try pulling it out a little. ie. the first of the two posistions. then the buttons that also moves other areas of the Chrono.hope it works. im sure if you try all the combos one will work.

This method only works with quartz chronographs. A mechanical chrono that is 'out of sync' will need to be reset by a watchmaker.

Love them have the standard black face black strap, white face with stipes, and the new gulf watch.

All keep great time and all have crystal glass.
