I'm posting this on behalf of a friend:
"I’m getting married very shortly and as a present for her I’m looking to get her a watch, perhaps a Gucci, but I know very little about watches, I can’t say what it needs to look good with as I have no idea what the dress / outfit for the day will look like.

And there are a few that look good, firstly are Gucci watches good for the money, if not what else should I be considering?"

i think, generally, they are regarded as a nice (depending on your taste) piece of jewellery as opposed to a nice watch.
at the end of the day, like so much else, it comes down to personal taste. i'd far rather have a simple rolex (sea dweller)
or an IWC.
