We brought my FIL a Tag F1 the christmas before last (so 21 months ago) the battery has just failed on it. I thought tag gave a 2 year guarantee on the battery, or did I dream it? If so, we brought the watch in switzerland (proper tag dealer) will he be ok just to drop it into a tag dealer in the uk and they'll do the business for free?
Thanks
Thanks
I just took my Tag back to the shop as the battery had died after 18months. I think you'll find their guarantee only runs for 18months but I may be wrong.
As long as you have the guarantee card with the watch, take it into a dealer and they should send it off for you, roughly 4 weeks waiting time at the moment though, fingers crossed mine will come back with a few less dinks/scratches than it went away with!

when i had a tag and the battery failed a waited 5-6 weeks for a battery replacement from tag. when is failed the second time i just took it to my local jewelers and they done it there and then on the spot for about £10.
If its not still under guarantee he'll probably do it himself, but if it is he may as well use it.Justayellowbadge said:
I'd be frankly astonished if the battery was covered.
Would you claim on warranty on a new car the first time the petrol ran out?
The batteries are covered I just cant remember for how long, why shouldn't they be? Its not my fault if its been sitting in the shop for 2 years before we brought it, we're not talking about a £35 timex jobbie here that any tom dick or harry can change the battery, we're talking about a £400+ watch thats waterproof and sealed, and Tag will charge the best part of £70 to change the battery.Would you claim on warranty on a new car the first time the petrol ran out?
I would expect a watch battery to last way over 2 years anyway, regardless of the price.
I've had my watch 4 years and never had to change my battery? Should they last that long? :S
Edit to say 5 years and 3 days ago i (actually my parents) bought it! Its a Tag Kirium and yep been going fine without servicing either, which i know is a bit naughty but cant for the life of me think why it would need one other than a bit of a clean inside?
