What (which?!) watch(es) would you recommend as an introduction to the 'world of watches', especially keeping price in mind?

depends what the price in your mind is.

under £500 - Seiko

£500-£1000 used Swiss or German (Sinn etc)

over a grand...whatever brand you like the look of really.

You're going to need to give us some parameters bud!!

Style? Price? Size? Bracelet or strap? Any features you want or need, like Chrono/GMT/Date? etc! New vs 2nd hand? Mechanical vs quartz?

Anyway, whatever we suggest, buy what YOU like!! You're going to get a million different answers anyway lol!!

I know the question is very vague, to be honest I have no idea about most of it.

Let's put the budget at <£500.

Then, if you were looking for your first watch in this price range, what would you shortlist?

I'm just looking for ideas, when the time comes to decide, I will go for what I like smile

Glycine/Sinn/Seiko/Oris - or look 2nd hand at Omega et al...

You can get a decent mechanical watch for that amount.

Happy hunting!
