Does anyone have any views on old Rolexs? Stuff like this:

Mint condition Rolex Oysterdate Precision manual hand winding watch, model 6694 dated circa 1981. Recently serviced and fully refurbished by Rolex qualified watchmaker. This is an outstanding example and looks like it has never been worn. It has a beautiful polished blue dial, which is also in as new condition and completely flawless. It has silver steel hands, and silver baton dial markigns. This is perfectly offset against the beautiful blue dial – Blue and silver making a striking combination. Has magnified date window at the 3 position. The bracelet is a period folded link bracelet which is also in perfect condition. The case back as well is in as new condition with just the most of insignificant of marks. This is another of the classic Rolex Oyster design, classic oyster case and oyster bracelet. It is instantly recognisable for what it is and is at home on the wrist whether worn with a suit or casual clothes. This is another Rolex that makes the wearer proud to own and sets them apart from the crowd. It is keeping excellent time as one would expect a Rolex to do. Dimensions are as follows. The width is 34 mm excluding crown, and 36.5 mm including the crown. The thickness is 11 mm and the lug to lug distance is 40 mm. Ref: ROL 183 Price is £745
I'm not in the market at the moment but when I am will need something that is classy and would be recognised as smart but not too bling that customers assume I'm making too much money.

I like them, for exactly the resons you state.

Personally, I'd put them closer to £500, but that does look clean, and the bracelet is a plus, if original. Neil is one of the good guys, so it would be a safe purchase.

That said, £750 or so is putting you into Date territory, and Datejusts can be found for there or there abouts if you look.

I'd love one as a dress watch - beautiful, classic old thing.

definately a beautiful watch and a classic, but for understated luxury I'd be looking at classic Omega models personally.

Where are the sites to look for vintage Rolex's etc? I think the watch posted looks in fantastic condition and that doesn't seem like bad value if it has been fully refurbed!

I love them but they're too small for me.
