I've got an old watch from my Great Uncle, it was his an army watch (Google tells me it's the GSTP watch made by CYMA). It doesn't work (I wind it and nothing happens) so how much am I looking at to get it working again?

I realise this is a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question, but a rough idea of what the minimum a watchsmith would charge for doing something to an old watch would be helpful.

Really is a question of how long is piece of string.
If it just needs lubricating about £40.
If it needs full restoration it could run into the thousands

I have a gold manual chronograph which was my father's. It's from the late 40's/early 50's but hasn't worked for probably 25 years +.

I finally decided to get it repaired. It needed new parts but an independant watchmaker/repairer sourced new parts for it and gave it a complete overhaul for £450.

OK, cheers for the responses guys. Unfortunately it seems like it'll go down as a 'nice thing to do when I have a spare few hundred pounds sat around'.
