I've decided to let me Speedmaster Professional 'moon watch' go as I have something new on the horizon and cannot justify it without selling something first frown

I paid £1350 for it in March, which is, admittedly, pretty high but it was from a trusted seller, is in excellent (almost as new) condition with the original hessalite crystal glass etc and an unmarked bezel. The chronograph functions work perfectly and zero as they should.

It was made in 1974 and has the 'moonwatch' writing on the back of the case. It is the .861 calibre movement which is in excellent condition.

Since buying it on a vintage Omega bracelet I have sourced a NASA replica strap and an Omega leather strap and deployant buckle (£300 on its own from Omega). So you will get 2 straps and a bracelet.

It keeps very good time and was serviced in March. It doesn't have any papers aside from my receipt/insurance valuation. I have a vintage 1970s Omega box to go with it - but I dont think its an original moonwatch box.

I'm asking £1100 for a (hopefully) easy sale and I'm based in London. Drop me an email through my profile if you are interested.

Max which numbers do you use to date the watch? I've often seen inside caseback numbers showing say 145 022 - 71 ST indicating 1971 but the serial numbers on the movement indicating something later like '73.

For movement serial numbers I use a table from chuck maddox' excellent site,

http://home.xnet.com/%7Ecmaddox/romans.html

But the year from the last two digits on the case back don't often seem to match?

Am I wrong or are the case and movement often made in different years?

Does your watch fit that table for caseback and movement year numbers?
i.e. is it a 32xxxxxxx movement?

Presumably the caseback says 145 022 - 74ST on it.

Well - 1974 is what the seller told me (a proper vintage dealer) so I havent bothered to confirm it myself. I'll have a go this weekend before it goes on fleabay.

How does the price look though out of interest?

Seems like a good price for that lot.
