Gents,

A quick question on second hand values if you please.

Was buying 'er indoors a watch and the dealer had a rather nice Seadweller that caught my eye.

Now its a black dial black besel, second hand with all papers and a Cert of Authenticity from local Rolex Main Agents.

They are asking $sg6,800 which works out to be about 2,250 sterling.

It was in mint condition, no scratches or scrapes etc and quite appealed to me.

does that price sound high / low ??? That was the starting offer so there will be some barter room, just wondering how much.

Doesnt sound too bad - I paid £1900 but it has a few marks (doesnt bother me for this one as I use it as an everyday watch). If you can get them closer to £2k I'd say it was a bargain.

They are bloody heavy though on your wrist - if that bothers you?

Cheers for the pointers.

Didn't seem that heavy, no different to my Speedie realy.

(or was this one dodgy ... was a reputable broker and they will have the watch authenticated at the ROLEX main agent with you present so guess must be fairly kosha)

I was offered a mint example recently for £2500 by a Jeweller with box and papers. I believe it was less than a year old. PM me and I will find out if it is still available.

Hasn't the OP been offered one for £2250?

Marki, I think you'll find that the sea dweller may not be that different to a submariner but is quite different to an Omega Speedmaster, as the poster said.

I know and my post sounded daft.

The watch I was offered had only ever been worn once and still had the plastic protectors on the lugs.

I was tempted myself but have just ordered a new Panerai PAM00090

My parents bought me a Seadweller for my 32 birthday just over a year ago. It was in mint condition and they gave £2300 for it. Hardly worn and showing no signs of wear keeping in mind the RRP is £2983 (IIRC)
