I'm looking for some idea of how much my watch is worth as I'm thinking of selling it to buy something else.
It's a Breitling Crosswind racing with UTC and a polished steel/gold pilot bracelet.
Both watches have a blue face with gold detailing, it has the matt finished bezel with gold markers
The UTC is SS with a blue face and gold trim around the outside.

Hardly worn in excellent condition, comes with the original box and papers for both dated June/July 2004 (I forget which). It also comes with the additional links.

Any ideas on where to sell it would be appreciated too.
I'm only selling as I can't justify having this and the IWC that I've been pining for.

Hi,
any Breitling with a UTC is worth considerably more than any other as they are not made any more.
I would say not to let it go for less than £2000.
Don't trade it in as they will rip your eyes out.
I would say try watchuseek.com and put it on the for sale forum.
Hope it goes well.

£2000 !!!!!

sheesh I was looking for closer to £3500

I don't know if I'm being unrealistic in my expectations.
I didn't know they no longer sold the UTC - IMO that's what makes the watch so special.
Obviously that particular model has now been replaced as well so I don't know how that would affect the value.

i mean it is just a rough valuation but i would not expect it to reach more than £2800.
Could you send me some pictures so i can get a better idea of value.
also do you have the original boxes and papers if these are not present expect that price to drop by about £200-£300.

I'll try and get some pictures up later on - all the paperwork is present for both, there are a few very small scratches on the clasp - nothing deep, they are all very thin/faint but then again I am a perfectionist so I don't know how these would affect the value if at all

only face scratches really affect the value.
like i say this is a rough guide to the price and is not definate to what you wil get.
I will tell you that my watch is solid 18ct gold limited edition breitling and was valued at £3000 my other is a chronomat two tone with rouleaux bracelet valued at £1500 if selling them privatly.
just because you pay top prices does not mean they are worth it unfortunatly.

I agree with you on the issue of paying top dollar, not necessarily meaning it's worth it.

Have you used the site you recommended to buy/sell watches much yourself ?
I'm not in any rush to sell, so I won't be giving it away for peanuts at any rate. I take it that if I try to sell it to a store they are going to offer me a LOT less for it ? All the places that state they will pay top money for your watch are talking out of their backsides then

Love your Nissan by the way - looks sweet

Nice watch.
If you take it to a shop for trade in you would only expect to get 20-40% of its true worth.
looking at the pictures i would say £2800 is about right for a second hand price selling privatley.
Sorry it was not what you were looking for.
All the best in selling your very lovely crosswind.
