10 and 6 years old respectively, unboxed and boxed, without papers and with papers, both immaculate and serviced by Rolex.

About £900 for the SS and £1600 for the SS/18k?

Basing the higher on being offered £1100 for a SS/18k datejust. Lower based on £1500 retail and some profit.

Shame the SS Sub hasn't got papers, otherwise I'd have been interested (assuming afore-mentioned dealer was offering rubbish money)

According to posters on here, both should be worth at least what you paid for them.

It's a shame you don't have the box and papers, that's the big problem for selling on a watch.

I suppose they'll sell the bimetal sub for £2900ish, with papers the SS sub would be £2000ish without papers who knows. So I suppose you were offered something like £2000 and £800?

Watch Dealer - Burnt my fingers, man.

Sir MP - I beg your pardon.

Watch Dealer - Man, that watch is so hot, it's smokin'.

Sir MP - Hot? Do you mean to imply, stolen?

Watch Dealer - I'll give you 50 bucks for it.

Sir MP - 50 bucks!

Sir MP - No, no, no. This is a Rochefoucauld, the thinnest water-resistant watch in the world.Singularly unique, sculptured in design,hand-crafted in Switzerland and water-resistant to three atmospheres. This is the sports watch of the 80's.$2000 retail.

Watch Dealer - Got a receipt?

Sir MP - Look, it tells time simultaneously
in Monte Carlo, Beverly Hills, London,
Paris, Rome and Gstaad.

Watch Dealer - In Philadelphia it's worth 50 bucks.

Sir MP - Just give me the money...

Sir MP - How much for the gun?

I'll always take a watch without papers for the right money (from a proper source - so not stolen). Don't forget, you get some papers if you get the watch serviced which are better than nothing when it comes to selling.

Nope - just an idiot who likes watches a bit too much!

£1100 for the sub, assuming it isnt a sub date, doesnt seem bad at all - my guy retails them at £1500. He does swear he only makes 10% though.

That's not much is it? £2700 won't they sell the bi-metal for that alone?

They offered me much less than I was offered in London for my Oysterdate (£900 vs £1100), so it might be worth asking around a bit. Try secondtimeround.co.uk

Thats £200 more than I was offered, and my p/x was against an 18ct Gold Submariner. The bid would have been less for an outright purchase !

Mark,
Can I confirm a couple of points?

Are we talking about a 1997 Rolex Submariner, is it the date model 16610 or the non date 14060?
Is the steel & gold Submariner the 2001 model 16613, with the gold running through the centre links of the clasp, and the 'solid end links'?
Do you have service paperwork from Rolex UK regarding each watch, or reciepts from the store/dealer who handled the servicing?
Lastly, are you just looking to sell or are you looking to p/x against another watch/es?

These will influence the offers you reciveve.

Dominic
