My little Omega shop where i buy mine from has had their stock withdrawn. Apparantly all the small shops have lost the Omega deal. Its a real shame because the service you get is very personal.
Nevermind, i thought i would mention it.
Oh they have a few watches left almost half price. Im not going to buy one just because they are on offer, well thats what im telling myself at the moment.

No they dont have any seamasters left. they have a speedmaster £1100, a pair of Devilles and a few i dont recognise.
They are called Ham and Huddy. 01626 353181. no website as they are an old fashioned store.

Apparently Omega have decided to close upto 50% of their UK accounts. In order to concentrate on modern prestige accounts (stores that typically have Rolex, Cartier, etc) rather than stores that 'headline' with Omega. They also plan to roll out stand alone Omega stores, like those in Bond St and Royal Exchange in The City......
Progress.....

I think a store is opening in Burlington Arcade, W1 too.

Its a shame they are withdrawing from some of the smaller local dealers - I got fairly 'disinterested' service in the Bond St store when I went in for a strap.

yes in teh past few months 2 dedicated Omega Boutiques have appeared here, all in premium rent locations.

Guess next step is that the independants like Cortina and Watches of will have thier Omega business closed down.

Looks like they are trying to make the brand "more exclusive"

I think this is a world-wide thing. I know when in Hong Kong recently I was told that Omega were trying to cut back on the huge discounts available there on new watches in an attempt to raise the 'exclusivity' of the brand name.

You could still get 30% off the ticketed shop price and at least 40% off U.K. rrp though.

I'd be suprised if they were opening up in Burlington Arcade, unless of course it's a tradesman's entrance to the Bond St store as they back onto each other.
They currently have my watch in for repairs and couldn't have been more helpful, although I'll reserve judgement until I actually get it back.

They have a shop currently blanked off and covered with Omega adverts - either is an advert while the unit is vacant or its being shopfitted. I agree though - cant see why they'd bother (it doesnt back onto the Bond St shop).

I think they just think that if they hike the prices up and put in a crap movement, the 'Rolex effect' will work for them.
