They have a JlC Reverso at a great price that I wanted to get for my wife's birthday but recently a message has appeared on the home page:

IMPORTANT The affairs, business and property of the company are being managed by Mark Wilson and Tracey Callaghan, the Joint Administrators who act as agent for the company without personal liability.
Customers should note that, until further notice, all transactions through this site are suspended.

Anyone know anything about this?

They've obviously gone into Administration (normally happens when a company cannot pay its creditors) - I feel sorry for anyone with unfulfilled orders!

The Administrators will try to keep it running/ sell it as a going concern. If that doesn't work, all assets will be sold off and creditors (not customers) paid off first.

Are the administrators selling the stock off?

I quite fancy an old style IWC Doppelchronograph.

I'd imagine a lot of suppliers would just like their stock back.....

But Blitz are not an authorised stockist for any of their brands stocked. They are not supplied directly by any of the Brands, they sell 'Grey market' product sourced on the open market. That is why they offer a 'Blitz' warranty instead of the manufacture warranty.

Case dismissed!

Do they hold much stock? Anything I've looked at on their site has had a lead time, so I thought they only bought stuff once they had an order for it.

Fair enough. I wonder what went wrong for them, apart from not selling enough watches.

TBH I was surprised to see alot of incorrect model numbers and information when looking at their site. It just made me wonder about them a bit.

Pity. I bought a movado off them about 4 years ago and the service I received was great.

I wonder how much money they took from customers in deposits before they closed?

I see the message about the administrators has gone from their site now.

edit - actually, forget that - it's still there, just a bit further down the page.

Damn, I was going to get about £15k's worth of watches on finance about 5 months ago, if I had, what would have happened with the remaining money owed? Could I have written it off? hehe
