Hi there all. A quick question for you, has anybody used www.chrono24.com/web/en/suchen/u/index.htm

Have seen a watch that i'm after on there that is proving pretty hard to get hold of but, before i hand over my hard saved and bulging piggy bank full of money just wondered what they're like.

The specific watch in question is THIS

Thanks in advance.

Never heard of them. Bad Homburg, Germany, based. Prices a little on the high side for second hand imho.

This dealer seems popular. The Swiss Watch Company.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply. I did check out www.watches.co.uk previously but they don't have what i'm after in stock. You think the price is a little high? I'm not really up to speed too much on used prices in general and on the watch in question. Is there any chance that you can give me a little more info as a guide price.

Cheers.

Hello M3John,

Hope you are well. Both Blitz watches and AA Time are selling the Panerai PAM00112 at £2150. List price from an official dealer is £2250. If you go down the Blitz or AA Time route make sure that you receive a full Panerai warranty rather than their own. Bought my Speedie from Blitz and I am very happy with it but cannot help you with AA.

If you still want to buy a second hand Pan 112 I think that £1950 is a reasonable price for a mint example with all the papers, box, warranties etc.

If you can wait you might want to consider completing watches co uk's watch request form.

Hope that Helps. Good luck. Nice watch by the way.

John... agree with FvR, that is too much money, you should be able to pick up something in the UK for less although the official dealers don't admit to discounting!
Also Blowers usually have a good choice of models, http://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/panerai.htm
It's also worth keeping an eye on Paneristi, alot of watches change hands on there and it will give you good idea of prices and availability http://www.paneristi.com/
cheers, John

Cheers for the speedy reply guys.

FVR, yes i've been frequenting those two sites for some time now and the watch is never in stock. Was kind of getting the impression that they were just advertising them to `try and get the punters in` or so to speak.

With regards to second hand, would you suggest that i keep looking down the obvious channels ie, chrono24.com or ebay ? (if there are any others then let me know please) I'm in no great rush to get one, i have been looking and seriously thinking about one since this time last year but have never taken that final step of tracking one down and splashing the cash. I did try one on in Harrods but it was in a left handed configeration which if i'm honest, wasn't exactly to my liking - being right handed !

Cheers John for the links above. The first of the two i stumbled accross a while ago and haven't been on that site since. Which isn't nothing to worry about really as the model in question was advertised on there before and it was sold then (maybe they should update their site more). The second link i've never herd of and will definatly save that.

Cheers guys.

John.

I just bought my 176i from the paneristi classifieds. Smooth deal, less than 2k. Brcause of the limited production, even second hand Panerais are selling for list (or over). There will be some discount on some of the less popular models (40mm, white face, some of the rads).

Hello M3J,

Blitz has gone into liquidation. If you go down the fleabay route make sure that the watch is authorized by a Panerai dealer as genuine before you hand over the cash. If the seller refuses, walk away.

Another dealer who has around for years is Austin Kaye in the Strand.

Freddie cheers for the heads-up on Blitz. Just as well i didn't go about sourcing one from them. As for the flea-bay route, yes i'd make sure that the seller agrees to an indipendent valuation from a place of my choice.

I think it's about time i went for a walk up the West End to see what i can find !

Cheers guys for the help.
