Cool cheap watches?
Discussion
Ok, I think I need/want a new watch, on the 'very cheap' end of the scale.
Currently got a 1970's jump hour that I bought off Ebay, its battered, as accurate as a stick in the ground, and needs winding everyday, but I love it. I love the movement, and the solid steel strap, with 'speed holes'. It is a bit teeny though.
Any ideas on something <£100 that is cool? A lot of new stuff is very plasticy, which I dont like - I'd like something a bit quirky and stylish. I really like the jump hour movement, or a Chrono would be nice?
I'm happy to buy new, or vintage, ebay, shops, whatever, or even if anyone has anything going spare?
Aesthetics, colour, desing etc far more important to me than the name!

RLT-13
You'll need to scroll down to it:

Slightly over £100 but only just. Certainly quirky.
Failing that vintage/second hand on the bay or keep a close on www.chronomaster.co.uk.
I got this for < £100 from Neil:

Fittster - the Orange thing is a bit brash I think, for an everday watch?
Tertius - bang on suggestions. The RLT-13 is fantastic, a bit more than I can afford, but i guess I could just save longer if nothing else hits me. I'm gonna do a search for other 'one-handed' watches.
That one that you've bought is also fab - exactly the type of thing I like. i've emailed the fella on that site for some suggestions, knowing very little about the 'brands' means that site is very hard to navigate by price! Nice gear though.
This
is also ultra cool - a watch with a 'Missiles Armed' switch, awesome!
Keep em coming!

Seiko Orange Monster is a bit of a cult classic.
.. have one as my bash about watch. If you like them, drop me a PM, i am sure i can wander down to Bugis and pick one up for you, they seem to sell here for about £115 - 130 depending on the mood of the watch shop!
^-- yup thats it.
They also do a black dial one if thats a bit brash.
edit - Had a wander about at lunchtime, there is a watch shop in Chinatown that can sell both Orange and Black monsters for $270 with resin strap or $320 with stainless steel. (thats £90 and £105 respectively)
Brand new, boxed and with Seiko international warrenty.
Just if anyone is interested. From what i recall, these are not generally available in Europe other than via Fleabay.
