I've been wanting a sub £1k watch for a while now - and for that money I'd be wanting an automatic - but I've come to the conclusion that I'd not wear it enough for it to keep going and and maybe not worth the initial outlay.

I'm now looking at watches around the £200-300 bracket - I am wanting something that looks somewhat sporty/motorsport inspired and it must have a stopwatch feature. I'd like something with a bit of heritage and that will hopefully keep some of it's value like the more expensive watches/brands.

So.. anyone with experience of Tissot chronographs? Particularly the T-race series? I quite like some of there other watches too (PRS 516 Retrograde). I'd considered some of the Seiko Sportura/Arctura watches but I am slightly put off by the Seiko brand (because they do cheaper watches etc). Any other watches out there for me? I dont mind the Tag F1 series, but the bezel looks a bit plastic-y and dont like the big/bold numbers on it..

Cheers, Greg.

For everyday use I've had a number of Tissots most recently a PR50 for the past couple of years which I like. Chrono function has 1/10th of second resolution which not many others seem to have and the watch has what I would call a "classic" look which I prefer to out and out "retro" looks.

Tissot also now doing a model called the V8 which I very much like the look of though it appears to be trying to echo the look of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona which some may find off putting.

I have a T775 titanium chronograph, had it a couple of years and quite good for every day use.

you probably want to look at the Seiko BAR Honda F1 watches. most have stopwatches (i think one has a 1/100th accurate one which is quite unusual).

I have a PRC 200 which I've had for a couple of years now. I think its a great looking watch for the money - £220 on a black leather strap.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I managed to have a look at a PRS50, 200 and T-race this weekend. To be honest I liked them all so I may well be getting one in the near future unless anyone has anything bad to say about Tissot...?

Cheers, Greg.
