I'd like a new watch - my budget is up to £300 and not bothered if new or vintage. At this stage I'm quite relaxed on whether is a dress or sports watch but don't want military, I think I will just like it when I see it if you know what I mean. Oh and a big factor for me is that my arms are like knots in cotton so a big dial is out of the question. I really couldn't go over 40mm including bezel.

What I really want is a blue dial Rolex Air King but can't afford one sadly (knew I shouldn't have just bought that new Canon 1 series DSLR!).
Quite fancy one of these Seiko Sportmatics or something similar in terms of dress watch though don't know how big these are, or how reliable!!

I appreciate I am opening a can of worms in that I will get lots of different responses because it's all down to taste but will help me see what is about.
if anyone knows any good internet sites or forums that I can visit to help me choose please let me know!

Cheers

if you have small wrists (i do to) check out "higuchi-inc" or "seiya japan" and import a japanese domestic model. they tend to have small faces.

I have three Seiko watches, my first was a Black face Cronograph Sport 100 from 1984 and still going strong. It's as tough as old boots having been run over by a digger, submerged in diesel plus every thing else you could throw at it, and it still looks cool.
No two Seiko is a Gold world timer white faced, with a tan leather strap. Only wear this when poshed up.
Latest is a Kinetic Sport 200 with blue and red bezel.

Apart from some new batteries, straps and resealing, they have been 100% reliable.

Good to hear re the Seikos. Just bought a new Sportura 595 today which I am very happy with.

Just leaves me to get a dress watch which will probably be a Omega Seamaster 30 if I find a nice one.

Will still probably pick up a Sportmatic if I see one tho too!

It's getting addictive this watch lark!
