Passing though the 'Dam, I visited the Rolex shop at the airport.

Lovely selection. Missed a steel Daytona by ONE DAY.

Don't torture yourself 996....

They were pulling your leg, I bet the look on your face was priceless. I used to work for a an outlet in London selling those goods, and my sales guy's would often tease tourists by saying that 'you should have been here yesterday' etc, etc. Mean, but amusing...

A bit like the old brass plaques you see in pubs (next to the horse brass) declaring 'Free beer tomorrow!'....

Why do you have to have a new Daytona?? There are MILLIONS of them on 47th street in NYC - I've never seen so many virtually brand new Daytonas on one street!!

Just lying around? In the shops? On passers by?

er, in the shops. Hundreds of them - all with clear stickery stuff to peel off!!! No doubt, it was pre-owned stickery stuff!

spose the only downside to that presuming its cheaper than the uk but you can wear the watch but cant post the box home as your already in departures.

The black face SS Daytona has grown on me hugely during my casual browsing for my next watch these past few weeks.

Not sure I'd want, or could afford, to spend c£6k on one though eek

All very well, but what's the typical wait?
