I was in my local dealer on Saturday enquiring as to when my Aerospace will be back from service. Whilst there, he showed me some new models, one of which he had in stock and some others he is expecting in very shortly.

First is the Avenger Skyland which has something about it, especially in the Black Steel combination which I believe is a limited edition colour combo:

Also there's the Superocean Heritage which he had in stock in Bronze - it's a really nice watch.

He also allowed my other half to try on a £29k diamond set something or other - it was a stunner (not surprisingly!) He knows I'm interested in watches, so he got it out just so I could have a look. It's one of only 25 made.

What's the verdict on the Avenger then? Should I buy one?

Personally no, I don't like it at all. I do rather like the look of the Superocean thing but its a bit of a Blancpain 50 Fathoms knock off, so ... no.

The Superocean in the pic is the first half-decent looking Brietling I've seen. But I suppose that's because it looks so similar to (but not quite as good as) a Rolex Submariner! smile

Nicely done watches, but hardly groundbreaking in their styling. Wouldn't make me want to rush out for one, but being fair, I'm not really a Chronometer kind of guy.

You don't like accurate watches ... wink

If I wanted an accurate watch, I'd buy a really good quartz...

Well, you have a point, though to extend that to rejecting mechanical watches because they meet the COSC standards of accuracy seems a little peculiar to say the least ... smile

Watches are such a personal thing it's up to you really.

So often you see someone post a picture of a watch they love and others think it's hideous. I prefer the superocean, or even the older superocean which is similar to the first watch without all the chronograph fussyness.

think if i was going to purchase a chrono in that style of watch .at momentr would go for a iwc ,i personaly seem to find breitlins on wrist of everyone at mo..may be its because they have a huge range within a certian price range ,or maybe because of peoples lack of self knowledge when looking for a watch.dont know if any of you finding that more and more jewellers have staff in their shops that offer very little technical knowledge on watches they are selling..very annoying ..had a lady other day showing me a patek phillipe ,coluldnt get crown open to set.biglaugh

When buying a Breitling, make sure it is a keeper. Most models are only worth half of what you paid for them secondhand.
