Hello all

I've got my good watch I don't wear that much for practical reasons and recently lost my trusty G-Shock (Stop sniggering at the back).

I've come across this website and wondered if the quality is reasonable considering what I think is quite a low price? They seem quite different than normal.

Am looking at the...

Rotolog
Metal Dork
Dictator

On the whole they are pretty good watches and out of the 3 you named I would say the Rotolog is your best bet. The Metal Dork and Dictator suffer from the small issue of not being in anyway waterresistant. Now I dont mean they are not rated, I mean that if you even splash them or get caught in the rain you might have issues if the watch gets hit.
The speaker for the speaking feature is under a metal grill on the front of the watch and has no protection at all. I have heard numerous stories of these 2 going pop in the mildest of situations.
the other issue the Dork has is battery life. Expect around 6months max battery life (it even has one of those old fasioned coin opened battery doors on the back for this very reason. I expect the dictator is the same.

They are made for the surfer/skateboard crowd so whilst they are pretty funky styled and hard wearing (water issues for the Dork/dictator not withstanding) they are not super high quality. They are very, very cheap on ebay though, so check there also.

Have to admit I like the 51-30 and the Super Rover SS with the black/silver strap.

I've had a Nixon divers style watch over 7 years and have found it well made and hard wearing. It's only a quartz but its been reliable, still looks good and is waterproof to 300m.

Just a few months ago I sent it to Nixon uk for a new battery and new rubber strap as mine had eventually given up the ghost and I wanted to keep it original as it was a gift so it holds sentimental value.

I'd recommend them as everday watches and I've just noticed they now do Automatics which should please the purists on here.

Had my Nixon automatic for nearly two years now, great bit of kit. Not a mark on the glass or tungsten bezel despite wearing it everyday.
