I only have 3 good watches! But as said earlier whats wrong with owning loads?? Nothing as far as i can see, The more the better, you are only adding to a collection that will hopefully grow in value over the coming years. I am currently also looking to add another addition to the (small) collection i own.

Well I've been into watches from a very early age, but unlike some (and this isn't a critic) I don't always aim for "more cost=more attractive". This is partly because I started collecting long before the money was there for sufficent high cost items, and I guess now for me alot of the high end stuff leaves me a bit cold in a "Every one seems to have one" type way.
I now like aiming for the unusal watches that tell the time in interesting ways. This invariably means that a large portion of my collection is Japanese digital & LED type watches. I do have 3 Oakleys (Including the new Time Tank, stunning watch), a couple of Poljot's, a Luminox 3402 (Stealth pilot standard issue) and several very rare Seiko's (Including a mint condition "AirPro&quotwink. As they say, this thread is worthless without pics.

Nearly every watch you see gets worn at some point through the month...

Good example of how eclectic the collection is, Mechanical Poljot Aviator mixing with unusal digitals from Japan...

I guess this is the most expensive single shelf. At the very back center is a Rosendahl Match IV, its not enhanced, the digital display really is that clear at all times. From left to right in the boxes is the Titanium Oakley Time Tank, X-Metal Oakley Timebomb & Stealth black steel Oakley GMT. Out of boxes we have a uber rare Spoon digital, Poljot Sturmanskie Gagarin & Titanium Fossil Frank Gerhy (yup, designed by the Arcitect of the same name)...

Like I said, I prefer rare and unusual and some of them are virtually impossible to replace. This Sieko wired Digital is the limited edition Basel watch of which there are only 200 in the world...

(Mine is No. 153)

Sure my collection isn't a patch on some others in terms of overall monitary value, but I wouldn't sell a single watch I own smile

You can never have too many, but I am running out of space in the cabinet.... oops.

Well Civpilot I have a way to go yet then I only own 9 watches. Nice collection.
I would not call myself a collector I just know what I like. I am not buying to make money in the future. I too now tend to go for little known makes(to those that are not in the know about watches that is) Nothing wrong with Omega etc etc but I would rather get something from the lesser known watch makers like yourself.

I also own a Poljot Sturmanskie Gagarin and 3 other Russian watches. I have a bit of a Cronograpth Fetish hence looking at Fortis and Sinn. I do wear nearly all of them.

Guess I had better get saving up then smile thanks for the input guys

I have a small routine that if I see a watch I really like it goes on a list. That way I don't do silly things like buy 1 watch every week smile but rather tend to treat myself every few months if I have some spare(ish) cash. Quite often the watch I buy is on "the list" but sometimes a rogue timepeice jumps in. I never actually intended to buy the Time Tank when I did but managed to get it for £400 from Miami. I couldn't turn down that deal as the UK retail is around £900.

Funny, I was looking a Sinn watches today, they are pretty nice. I must say though, at the moment I am very partial to Formex, the AS1500 in particular...

Everything from the oversize 47mm suspension cases to the packaging with the extra leather strap etc. The whole buying experience seems to be well thought out. The fact that I don't know anyone who wears one adds to the appeal. UK prices are silly though and buying from Germany seems to be the cheapest option.

And of course the Sturmanskie Blue ocean is uttery stunning...

so the decision is never easy.

Umar, Everyone should own a Solsuno smile Great watch, Very well made and gets more attention than pretty much every other watch I own (apart from the Tank)

Civpilot - fascinating collection. Quite an eclectic mix.

I love that Sturmanskie Ocean - do you know from where they are available?

Or more specifically....

Of course, have a good look round, they have an incredible selection on there (although the site is a bit slow to load sometimes)

Too many? Sorry, don't understand the concept.

Currently have about 60 mint boxed and papered, about 30 or so unboxed but excellent, and god knows how many in drawers and shoeboxes etc.

Ranging from the high end (Pateks, Audemars, Vacheron etc) through my personal weakness, automatic chronographs (I have 21 7750s at the moment! + GP, Zenith, Sinn et al) to deep dive watches (Anonimo, Zodiac SSW etc)

I keep meaning to have a clearout but just haven't had the time.

I have the chronometer certified version of the titanium cased Sinn 103 AR, that may be on the list when I purge. I'll give you a shout when and if I get a free moment to sort through, if that's the sort of thing you're interested in.

Don't have many pics - one of the things that allows me to keep putting a sale splurge off. Here's a couple (mainly from vendors when I've bought off the bay or online)

Patek ref 3776 - Manual wind, 18K with Diamonds to the case. A tad bling, but fabulous.

Audemars Royal Oak rectangular - one of my best buys - £400 smile

Eterna Porsche Design 7750. Lovely vanilla rubber strap. Possibly the only watch I own with a solid back where I prefer tha beack view to the front. Beautifully finished.

Tage Heuer Link Senna 2004 edition.

These two are quite fun - picked up quite recently, they were props worn in the movie 'Sunshine' and can be seen on the wrists of two of the leads throughout the film.

Oh yes smile I do like the 103 may be a little out of my budget thoughfrown. my favourite sinn's at the moment are the Sinn 956 Fulda and the copper faces 356II.

I picked up something off the RLT forum last week that's probably right up you street - A Sturmanskie SS-18 chrono. Purported to be made from decommisioned SS-18 ballistic missile casings. Had always quite fancied one, and they used to be easy to come by but couldn't find one for a while when I started looking, other than jokers on ebay want £400 or so.
Quite fun, and I think I'll be keeping it a while -makes a good pub watch.
