Why so cheap when Vesuvius said he could get £3,000 for one anywhere. He even said it would only take ten minutes.

...my price is a bargain (but FIRM), I admit - I need a quick sale as I have my eye on one of the new GMT's.

Any purchaser is welcome to have the watch verified as authentic at the Rolex Service Centre in St James, prior to handing over the readies!

Sounds like a pretty good deal - I'd have it myself but I'm trying to agree a deal for something else (also a Rolex Sub).

Are these forums now available for anybody wanting to hawk things?

Best not to use them otherwise somebody puts something like the green bezel version is horrid and that price is more than a proper original black bezeled new one

...ahhh...but the standard submariner doesn't have the gorgeous, retro, maxi-dial. Greatly improves the look and the readability of the watch in poor light conditions. The Green bezel also makes it more distinctive than the old one.

Is the 'maxi dial' just the larger luminous hour markers?

TBH I think we should be able to sell watches here, the classifieds are crap.

...I'll try and find a pic of the two watches side by side and you'll see for yourself. Larger luminous hour markers and a thicker minute hand as well. Makes a big difference to the look of the watch.

O.K. - the green bezel is an acquired taste, but it grows on you. And if it doesn't, the bezel can be swapped out quite easily (by a watchmaker!) for a black bezel. I've seen this done and it looks good!

Good idea - why not turn the discussion forums in to a million classified ads for old beds, used cars and general household tat as well?

Thinking about it they really need a for sale forum or classified section to this web site, oh no, hold on a minute....

Other specialist forums like scale models or photography have people selling stuff to each other.

Perhaps the 'adverts' are more subtle than 16610LVs for sale post but then that's Rolex owners for you. hehe

Can we get a watches section in the classifieds?

The MISCELLANEOUS is full of lots of very weird stuff, although I do want this: www.pistonheads.com/sales/172311.htm
