Does anyone know the current list price of a SS Daytona, both UK and US?

I think the UK is currently £4,400, but am trying to find the US list price.

Thanks

Not sure about the prices but can tell you that you'll find it almost impossible to even get yourself on the waiting lists for these...I got one last year (white dial) for £5800.00 but well worth every penny - this watch is a classic bow

For a watch that costs £4420. Wow.

5.5k-6k seems to be the going rate regardless of where you buy (UK or US), for the white face/stainless model. And I believe the US list will be broadly the same as UK, allowing for exchange rate fluctuations.

I asked at a dealer about getting on the wait list, but no dice. Only "valued customers" are invited on (buying an IWC deployant clasp evidently didn't count ).

They are nice watches, but I don't believe they're worth 25% over list I'm afraid. Think there are better made watches with nicer movements available for less money.

Andy, it's Eric mate, long time no speak, hope all is well!

I have managed to obtain one (throug a friend) in Bermuda. His family is a Times top 500 rich list so that's where the contact comes from, went to school with him. Black face. On its way over in the first week of June. He will be paying $ price. Just want to make sure I know what the correct $ price is.

H Samuel will put anybody on the list - not sure how long it is these days though.

As Rolex tend to increase their prices yearly, there is an argument that if you are going to wait 3 years for a 4.4k watch, you may as well have it now and pay 5.5k from a grey dealer as by the time your name gets to the top it will probably cost at least that anyway!

I'm not too into overpaying for stuff though - there are much nice rolexes around for $10-12k.

Lesley Davis Brent Cross have checked their waiting list and it is 7.5 years long as of now. The list price is indeed £4420.00 but if you ever manage to find any at this price buy them all! Each dealer in the UK gets 2 watches a year. At the end of 7 and a half years this watch will have a list price of around £5500 anyway!

Who told you each dealer only gets 2? The manager of a chain store told me they get x (30 one month), then divide them up between stores as they see fit. I dont think there is a set amount.

TBH, for £5500 you can just about get a white gold daytona from the US, which seems like a more sensible buy.

Hi Eric.

I believe the current US list is something like 8,400USD. If you're getting one at that, you're v.lucky (though it has to be the white face ).

In terms of pricing going up, I'm sure they do. However, money is also devalued over time too. So you're not really paying 5500GBP in 7.5yrs.

2 different branch managers have told me that they get allocated 2 per month per branch and that is only for the high end branches.

As fot getting the gold version they are freely available in the UK and you can also get them less than list price if you look hard enough....and there are no waiting lists on them coz in my opinion they are horrible vomit

The stainless steel daytona is a class apart and hence the 7 and a half year waiting lists.

I bought a black face for £6k in 2004. I notice they have now changed the daytona to a more modern design.

I'm glad I did not go on a waiting list because ultimately the watch you see now might not be the same model in 5-7 years time.

Hi Andy,

Yes it is for list price, and I am bypassing the wait list - its from an authorised dealer in Bermuda - as my friend's family is an extremely good customer of the jeweller, he is willing to let me have it as a favour. It is the black face though, which I actually like the look of - is it less desirable than the white face then? I have no intention of selling it though, so not worried if it fetches less on the used market. My friend is over in Bermuda for a company board meeting in the first week of June, and will be bringing it back with him.

I saw a black face ss Daytona in Bridgetown Barbabdos a few months ago. Are they really that hard to get abroad?

I bought one new is 1999 and the list price was 3230 IIRC..........I put my name down at EVERY Rolex dealer in the UK, and I only ever got a call from 1 dealer, so make of that what you will.

I got mine (SS white dial) in Leeds after 7 year waiting. Believe me the wait just made me appreciate the watch more!

In the fully SS models both colour dials are hard to come by, so no, not really. Though I believe the white dial is the most often asked for and is most definitely the one I'd like to track down (preferably before selling the real deal (car wise)!).

Enjoy it Eric, you lucky bugger
