Big discounts available on FM watches as they are not particularly well regarded by watch people. Generally they are seen to be an (overpriced) flashy upstart of a brand favored by footballers and the like... another one is jacob+co (those big ugly multi colored things).
If i were you i would do some more research and perhaps consider some other brands like Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger Le Coultre (v.nice) etc... if you are dead set on FM then look for 50% off rrp as they are not good sellers generally. good luck.

cannot see a 50% off rrp but will have a go.

I want to buy my self a Frank Muller in the not to distant future. Can anyone recommend the best place to purchase one. I'm off to New York in the near future so maybe there may be a bargain to be had there, any advice would be much appreciated.
Have to say the look of them has really grown on me, though I don't know enough about their pedigree.
From what I can gather buying a new one is a mugs game, granted someone's got to do it, but even recent s/h ones seem to lose a lot of money over new.
I bought my FM conquistador in Dubai, and managed to get it around £2500 cheaper than UK price.
I would strongly recommend getting the metal bracelet, as any other strap is pretty useless, and the leather strap is around £250 to buy from FM. I have managed to destroy one rubber strap and one leather strap in the space of 1 year, but I wear watches, rather than leaving them in a winder and taking them out for special occasions.
I quite like the FM, but in all honesty if you are looking for something of beauty rather than bling, consider Patek, Breguet or something of that ilk.
I have to admit that i get a lot of nice comments about the FM, so it is special in its own way.

With regard to the FM resale values, I agree about the shocking prices being offered.
I have found that some watches fetch good resale prices, and know of one or two who have actually made money on some Rolex watches.
I think that as a general rule of thumb, it is only the more rare/limited edition watches that hold or appreciate.
As with most things, if you buy right, the pain on re-sale is slightly less.
I bought a FM Conquistador for around £3k in Dubai, while the RRP in London is £5250, so look around very hard, and the deals are there to be found.
HTH.

Defo agree that TAG & Breitling don't hold there money but lets face it there basically a mass produced watch. As mentioned any rare watch will hold up well, but that's the general rule with any item be it a watch or a car.
As i posted I'm off across the pond soon so as you guys have mentioned I'm going to haggle hard. TBH if i don't receive a good discount i will walk.

...Rolex are also a mass-produced watch, but they hold their values probably better than ANY other watch brand - especially the stainless steel sports models.

thats because all the chavs like a rolex
Yes, you do see chavs searching for Double Red Sea-Dwellers, Comex, red Submariners, pre crown guard Subs, Paul Newman Daytonas, Milgauss subs and Steve McQueen Explorers don't you??? Just because a chav done good has a gawdy gold bling machine on their wrist doesn't mean that Rolex doesn't make/hasn't made some stunning and very cool watches! IMO, of course!
