OG Tag Connected not starting up - can it be repaired?

I stumbled across my old Tag Connected earlier it was the original first gen one they did. Somehow hadn't lost the charger so put it on charge but it wont get past the Tag logo when you turn it on. There are a couple of reboot/reset procedures including that hard reset but it won't go into the android menu. Is it worth sending in for Tag to reset it? I'm sure it was about £1500 and it's not a very effective paperweight either so wouldn't mind getting it going again. It's been in my dafe for 5 years untouched though!
