My wife’s Tudor Clair de Rose needs a service - it’s currently running (very) slow and the date no longer aligns properly in the window.

It was last serviced around 5 years ago via the local Rolex / Tudor service centre, but their charges are extortionate and I know they will try and insist on lots of cosmetic work as ‘necessary’ if I send it to them, so I’m looking for a suitable alternative.

I think I’ve read threads on here about PH members that can do this - any recommendations, please?
Thanks

It should be fairly easy to service as it's an ETA based movement.

Robert Reeves in St Austell could probably do it I would have thought - suggested because you're in Cornwall.

Ha! Interestingly Cornwall will always be ‘home’ to me, although I no longer live there. That said, I visit Cornwall regularly (and have family near St Austell), so this could be very convenient.

Non-Cornwall (I.e London / South East) options also gratefully received!

No idea where you are based but would recommend both H Stanley in Dorking and TWR in Essex.

For the past 20 or so years I have used Swiss Time Services in Essex for servicing etc my Omega Seamaster and Porsche PO11. You could get them to give you an estimate for the work required for your Tudor.

So I’ve been quoted £380 for a service in the Ladies Tudor watch - is that the going rate these days? I remember paying half that at the official Rolex/Tudor service centre, seemingly not so long ago!

I paid just over £800 for a day/date Rolex last year and a little more for a Breguet. I'd suggest the level of work required is pretty similar to servicing your Tudor.

Compared to that it sounds like a bargain!

I’d be a bit annoyed if you gave that to me. hehe
