Advice on buying a Tag

I'm quite taken by the current Tag F1 range and have always danced around the idea of buying a 'nice' watch.
Back when I looked into it in 2011 I spoke to somebody who could provide them at less than high street prices. Turns out he could do that but not paying VAT and he's spent time in jail due to falsifying import paperwork and avoiding tax!
So, with something like a Tag, is it best to buy from the high street at RRP? Do they have offers around Black Friday? Is Duty Free worth it?

I would think there are discounts to be had on TAGs at the moment. As a starting point I would try a high street authorised dealer and negotiate. I'd be looking for 20% off, which used to be achievable. Buy one used would be my advice, have a look on Chrono 24 or Watchfinder as a starting point, you will quickly get an idea of used values and Tag's do depreciate quite hard from new, I get there's something about buying new and being the first person to have it but the savings on the used market will be significant I imagine.

I couldn't see the one I like on Watch Finder. I'll have a look at the other site though Look online at the UK retailers, see who's offering the current best price? There will usually be a few hundred quid or so to be saved.
That said I walked into a Tag main dealer to potentially get a Carrera 36 and they implied they'd match what I'd found online... worth noting though that it was the pink one, they might not have been so willing were it blue!

I have an F1 43mm ceramic quartz with sunburst grey dial - i got it from Chronext and with a voucher code it was about £350 less than high Street at the time. They are about £500 more now for the same model, but used prices are pretty poor.
Been a fantastic watch though highly recommend.

This. Tag F1's will not hold value relaively speaking so there will be a supply of basically NOS watches available at better rates if you are happy to wait, pick last years model.I feel old. I remember selling the last of the originals at a discount. We were giving them away at £180 in 2000!
