Omega De Ville battery replacement

My other half has an Omega De Ville which her grandmother gave her about 7 or 8 years ago and it appears the battery has now expired (not unexpected)

Any recommendations for getting it replaced - either in the Colchester/Ipswich area or mail order.

Easy swop to do yourself or Timpsons will do for about £90. Anywhere else that isn’t an old guy with a shop will likely want to send it to their service centre and charge accordingly.

Normally it will be a pop off back either top or bottom there will be a subtle indent.

I’ve always had my De Ville done at Timpsons - very straightforward and good value. They had a lifetime battery option when I had mine done in circa 2010 which means I take it back whenever it needs changing and there is no additional charge - can’t get better than that!

£90 for a battery change is considered good value? Wow.
Cost of battery : ~£2
Time to replace battery : 5 minutes.

Hourly rate = (60/5) * (£90-£2) = £1056.

Yeah OK, they do a lifetime guarantee. Assume the battery lasts 10 years, the watch lasts 30 years ( two Timpson battery changes ) and that you can still find and read the receipt in 20 years time. Mr Timpson is still charging you £516 per hour.

My local watch shop/ repairer replaced the battery on a 1990's Omega Constellation for £10 today. That's Weybridge in Surrey.

No pressure test though.
