COSC Diver

I'm looking for a COSC dive watch, around £1,000.

Can be new, or used but in great condition. Other than Christopher ward which has a few nice options, what else is out there?

Certina do COSC dive style watches. You might find a Longines Legend Diver 2nd hand.

A quartz Casio MDV106 will likely be more accurate than any COSC-certified automatic watch. Nice things, too. £50-£60 from Amazon.

£180 on Amazon at the moment. Better quality than my Seiko Sumo. The CW you post will be nicer, but you could buy the Citizen to dive, and not care if it sinks to the depths, and use the CW for nights out etc

Edited to add, I know it’s not COSC but it’s ISO compliant and mine only gains 10 seconds a week

For £1k new you'll struggle but should get a barely worn for around that figure,

Ball are highly thought of and do some COSC diver style watches, these may be around the £1k mark.
Very occasionally you might see a Breitling watch (Colt / Avenger) around the £1k mark S/H

Not actually sure if this specific one is COSC, but I do know DOXA do do COSC watches.

Seiko surely?

Not sure if the Willard is COSC but they have so many options and good history in dive watches

I don't think Seiko are tested for COSC since the movements are made in Japan. They tend to be accurate though. Their partner brain Grand Seiko have their own in-house testing certification.

No, the 6R35 movement is "+25 to -15 seconds per day", which is unacceptable IMHO.

It's weird that Christopher Ward has very few competitors in this space, even if I increase the budget to £1,500

P.S. I don't want to spend significantly less, so Casios et al are out.

Don't know why anyone would suggest a casio if you're looking for COSC.

CW I think are the answer if you like their designs.

To be fair, CW they have increased their prices (and, clearly, the quality of their design and manufacture). The brands that used to occupy this price point all moved up at the same time, so are now 1500+, the brands above them all moved up as well.

Surprised me as well, was going to suggest the Prospex 1965 as it looks like it has a lovely, thin case! Saw one in a shop window and it looked much better than it did online. Very handsome piece with retro vibes (obviously, as an updated reissue)... But I'd have never thought to question the accuracy because, well, Seiko!

I agree, I love Seiko watches, but you have to spend some serious money to get the accurate movements. Or just get lucky with a lower end one.

Take a look at Titoni. Not a well known brand in the UK but you may get close to the £1k budget for COSC.
