I've never had a strap with a deployant clasp and want to try one, so two questions.

Who makes the best, most comfortable one? Given a cost-to-value ratio too.

Secondly, how are they on smaller (6"-6.5") wrists? I've read that the Artem ones are pretty bulky and uncomfortable on smaller wrists, and at around $400 CAD it would be an expensive mistake to find out.

You can get generic deployant clasps that will replace the buckle and pin of the leather strap.

These can be had for as low as £5 off AliExpress or eBay.

I have previously used these myself on watches costing £000's without issue.

You dont need to pay that.
I bought one for about £20 around 15 years go at least and still works perfectly well.
I have one with an omega style clasp which i like but you do need a specific strap for one.

Also can can buy straps with them already included

WatchGecko have a good selection of deployant clasps. Bear in mind it's very unlikely any will be as well fitted as the OEM deployant clasp.

Some of these are far more comfortable than the OEM ones!
