For me

Size, 36mm to 38mm

Dial, textured or at the very least sunburst

Hands, individual, Tissot gatepost with "T" second hand, Wise Adamascus art deco handset especially the hour hand, makes a mercedes or snowflake hour hand look a bit lacking.

Polishing, give me some polishing on the case and bracelet. I am a tart I like shiny.

40mm plus

Just something that catches my eye, a small detail that sells the watch to me. This could be anything, nice face, clasp, hour/minute hands.

Don't mind leather or metal strap but not keen on rubber/silicon straps, having said that I have one or two in my collection.

Over 40mm, less than that looks too small on my above-average wrist. Haven't decided an upper size limit yet.

Clear legible dial, but with a bit of depth to it.

Solar - I understand the appeal of automatic and might add one to the collection at some stage, but the accuracy and 'ready to go' factor makes quartz more practical for my use and I like never having to worry about flat batteries with solar power.

Not too flashy/blingy.

Subtle unobtrusive elegant design without bling shiny surfaces.
Tactile and comfortable touch points.
Obsessive attention to excellent finishing.
1st class servicing/repairs.
Caseback which allows me to see the movement...having paid for it, I want to enjoy wondering at the intricate engineering.

Handsome looks
Not fussy or busy
Brands I like
Price/value
Movements not so much as long as it's reasonably accurate (microbrands mainly)
Different: Not everybody has one
Heritage on some brands: Longines comes to mind
Accuracy

Also if something has that unique spark, and I can't get that 'want' out of my head. hehe

No date. Like I have watches with dates. But would much prefer they had no date. 1 less thing to set when rotating.
