Finally got round to resuming my search for a Monaco. Sadly I’m on a fairly short budget so I’m firmly in preowned territory.

What are the smaller versions (model number with a W prefix)? I don’t really like the look of them but they’re notably cheaper. Do they use different movements?

Going back to the normal ones, what is the difference between a regular auto and a ‘Calibre’ movement? Are they worth the extra money?

Also, any recommended sources please? Looked at Ramsdens, WoS, Parker’s so far. Should I be looking on Chrono24 too? I’m still nervous about it though.

Any input appreciated, thanks.

I think they are the 37mm case 'Womens' size, some with a quartz movement wink

That is lovely! Top end of my budget but very nice. I’d rather have a leather strap though but beggars can’t be choosers. I’m waiting for some money to come in so hopefully it hangs around for a couple of weeks!

This might sound rather weird but IMO you’re better off with an earlier version as it looks much better with the original Techniques d’Avant-Garde logo with the arrow shaped ‘G’. The latest logo just looks wrong and I could never buy a newer one with it. I think the change took place around 2015.

I like that listed one. I wouldn’t worry about it being in a rubber strap. You could add a leather strap at a later date. There are loads of nice options that won’t break the bank. A nice black leather rallye strap would look good

What do you mean 10-12?

Do you mean £1k or £1,200?

In the context of the sentence, percent %, 10-12% discount should be readily achievable.
