Curious to know how people afford all these stunning watches. Desperate to get into Omega ownership myself and an owner of a Tag Heuer given to me many years ago, I refuse to believe that everyone is stinking rich biggrin

I did one on 0% finance (but about half the price of an Omega). The others I've either saved up for, or had enough in general funds to buy and then repay myself from my toy allowance.

I’ve done a few of the above. To be fair, my nicest ones have always been paid for or gifted, but other impulse buys have been put on card…

Have done all of those the most expensive watch I have ever owned was a gift, the last watch I bought was on 0% finance from retailer. Nearly bought another watch today also on 0%.

My Pasha and the Wife’s Tank were both cash purchases, but that was a long time ago before we had a child and my vocation was more….. adventurous.

Many of my used watches have been under £250, with the odd one approaching £500. I might use PayPals ‘pay-in-3’ for those, I might not, depending on finances at the time.

I popped into Goldsmiths yesterday with my daughter to have a look at 35mm Cartier Pashas and Chopard Happy Sports depending on her continued good behaviour, attitude and attainment at school.

Goldsmiths are offering 3 years 0% with 10% deposit. Were I to purchase my daughter a nice watch for her birthday next year, and such finance offers were still available, I’d certainly be taking advantage of the 0% deal, but it was stressed to me that there wouldn’t be anything off of the rrp on either brand.

Over the years I've amassed a large number of watches in the £100 - £500 category so I'm in the middle of selling some of these off and will be looking for a Tudor in the not too distant future.

I paid for my Pam & my Speedy racing with cash in the bank, but I could have had 4 years at 0% with minimal deposit on the Omega.
With hindsight, I think that leaving money in the bank & taking advantage of 0% finance for something like an expensive watch is the better option.

Was there a decent deal to be done on the Omega in lieu of taking the 0% offer?

I didn't bother asking, at the time Omega didn't have stock, so it was boutique only and I was in the right place at the right time.
I was given the usual Wolf watch winder and a bottle of Omega branded Bollinger to go with it though.

There’s never been the option of finance whenever I’ve bought anything from Pragnell. I’d have probably done 0% if they mentioned it.

I've used 0% finance simply because it's a no brainer when the funds can be earning interest.

My husband bought himself a Rolex Deep-Sea and a Sea-Dweller 4000 for me when his father died using a small inheritance.

I think a nice watch is a lovely thing to buy for a man using inheritance. We both wear them every day, it’s a nice reminder of where they came from and they should last a lifetime.

I stick to watches that qualify for the 'under 200 watch' thread, that's flash enough for me! hehe

My GS was funded by the last bit of my mum's estate.

They do offer it now online, high apr even when rates were low. I'm glad they don't though as I'd have brought alot more stuff on finance.

My first expensive watch was via finance from Goldsmiths. The rest have been via savings.

Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing!

I've got a little bit of crypto that seems to be doing ok at the moment, and a rare Lotus Type 1 Elise watch which I may consider selling for the right price, but even then I'd need to finance some potentially.
