I am not a watch guy so I don't want to spend a lot on a new watch. I like a bargain also.

I like the Casio Edifice range and have my eye on a couple of second hand ones in as new condition for around £80 (rrp was £160). But recently seen that you can get some nice homage watches from the likes of Pagani Design etc which look to have better specs so sapphire glass, Seiko movements etc and so seem to be amazing value.

I was wondering what you experts think should I stick to a Casio or go for something from one of the Chinese brands?

Cheers.

I quite like some of the San Martin, Pagani and Addiesdive watches and they're probably good value, but not something I'd choose personally. Probably just my inner-snob making itself known, as many reviews rate them highly (for the money).

Take a look at https://m.youtube.com/@JustOneMoreWatch on YouTube. He deals mostly with the more affordable end of the watch market and has reviewed hundreds in this category. I've been watching him for years.

I've had a Pagani Design before, was alright for not much money, I hear San Martin are good value as well.

Casio Edifice are budget watches as well, they're alright but align your expectations with the lower end of the market. Go with what you like the look of and enjoy it.

Good shout - also Ben's watch club for lots of lower priced vids.

I have one Pagani Design homage and it is surprisingly good quality. But the Casios are budget already. I would just buy the Casio.

Can I throw Citizens into the mix?

Comprehensive range, quality is amazing at the price, and - last time I looked - 10% off first order!

Check on the Casio Outlet site every once in a while. They occasionally have some decent bargains amongst the more wacky stuff that no one really wants.

That Casio outlet site looks good - thanks - wasn't aware of that.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned the Duro as that seems well reviewed and is well under £100. Would that be a better buy than an Edifice?

Yes most definitely better. Its a proper dive watch rather than something more from the fashion end of the spectrum.

I've got several chinese watches from Pagani, Steeldive, Addiesdive and Tandorio, All great spec and great value if you can accept the design is a rip off.
