I need a new watch strap for my watch, as my current Rios sailcloth strap is splitting, not happy, as this hasn’t lasted a year. Ideally, I don't want to spend a small fortune as it's going on a Longines Heritage Diver, so if anyone can provide some good suggestions then I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.

Had an Artem that I was pretty good. Not cheap though. Strap Tailor seem to do similar a little cheaper.

I got one of these a few months ago for a Tudor GMT and it seems good quality and the service was good.

There was a 10% introductory discount, think it came to £44 from memory.

How flexible is the material? As I think the issue with mine is that it's really stiff.

Mmm, that’s hard to quantify.

It’s what I would have expected it to be, probably in the middle between a leather one and a nato one, maybe slightly nearer leather.

I wouldn’t class it as overtly stiff, it’s comfortable enough.

Not sure if that description helps!

I bought a black and green sailcloth recently as a just to have - it’s unlikely my speedy will ever be off its bracelet. I picked up two straps from Etsy. I looked at reviews of Artem etc but I just didn’t want to spend that kind of money on something which will barely get any wrist time.

Two straps for £48 delivered. Seem good quality, were comfy for the trial fit and at £24 a pop it’s not the end of the world if you don’t like it. Quick release spring bars as well. Watch & Strap is the brand. They also have their own website but Etsy had a sale on.

I had a look at these, particularly this one which I wanted for my Hydroconquest Chrono - and they appear to do that harder to come by Longines 21mm width:

But worth bearing in mind the top comment on that link that says they come up on the large size and could do with an extra hole/shorter length.

I like my watch to be tight-tight and I had to use the last hole on the strap. My wrist is 6.25.

Not sailcloth, but Steveo does some really great canvas straps and is a top guy to deal with. Highly recommended.

Have to agree about Stevostraps, he made a Desert Para strap for me. Here it is on my Newmark Field 52 with ivory dial

No idea what that is but I'd not want a sail made of it, nor a watch strap made of actual sail cloth.

I think ‘sailcloth’ is just shorthand for a strap made from a thicker, water-repellent, artificial fabric.

People like different things. I have a Zuludiver ‘sailcloth’ strap on my divers watch at the moment, one of the other advantages is that it doesn’t get as sweaty/stinky as a leather strap. Plus it’s broken in nicely now and is really comfortable.

Where are they made? To me they look a bit “temu”… upsold.

I like the material. My Longines Ledgend diver came with one as standard. It’s got a thin leather lining so is really comfortable.
