Are Tag watches cheaper in Dubai?
Discussion
Quick question, is it cheaper to buy a TAG watch in Dubai from an official store / airport than in the UK?
Im planning on going in a few months and if i can save a few hundred £ i dont mind waiting.
TAG Heuer Special Edition Formula 1 Red Bull Racing 43mm Chronograph Men’s Watch - about £2000 / £1950 in the UK.
Thanks

I’ve bought 2 TAGs in Dubai (I used to live there). On both occasions the official TAG boutiques were happy to negotiate. The last purchase was a stainless steel ladies watch and I think we achieved about 45% off … an element of that could have been it was a discontinued line rather than my negotiating skills though.
Both were quite a few years ago so things may have changed. But it never hurts to ask and be prepared to walk away. There are quite a few TAG sellers.
Edit - the current AED/GBP exchange rate will work against purchasing in Dubai.

To add to this, i managed 40% discount a few years ago on an F1 for my 40th birthday although this isnt the usual level of discount it does at least show how much margin they do have to play with. Both were quite a few years ago so things may have changed. Won’t you get hit with VAT on arrival in U.K. though?
I'm guessing that's what the OP is also hoping to avoid. Having debated it adnauseum here the opinion seems to be:
- You should delcare it and not be naughty
- You''ll never get stopped going through the green lane
- Even if you try to declare it you'll be stood in the red lane for ages trying to be honest and most folks just walk off.
