I happened to be in LV and was presented these for feedback.

In my view LV are heading in the right direction (this doesn't mean I like the pieces), but there is still a long long way to go.

The Bad:
No QR straps
Price
Finishing at this price point just isn't good enough, I would take a AP(retail), JLC or Breguet any day.
Value proposition sucks, imagine trying to liquidate a €40K platinum with meteorite dial and not be completely and utterly shafted!
LOUIS VUITTON on the dial, I hate this almost as much as I hate to see the word AUTOMATIC on a dial. They need to take a leaf out of the Christopher Ward book.
Soft edges everywhere, hands/indices just look at them! Don't look precise at all.
No screw down crown

The Good
In house movement, albeit with st finishing for such an expensive watch.

To me, they look like they should cost about £200-300 max and be something some chav will be wearing just to say "its LV mate"

I'll stick to decent Swiss brands for half the price thanks.

The blue one is quite nice, after taking a good look at those photos. Dial is very simple but elegant enough.
I’d be scared of damaging it. boxedin

The insecure people that buy anything mega priced from fashion houses?

While not related to watches, there was an article in the FT about Italian police who busted a Dior factory in Italy. Found that their bags cost €57 to manufacture, Made In Italy by underpaid migrants, and sell for €2700. Fair play to them!

Regarding the watches, nice pictures. While not going to be in the position to buy one, seriously, 30-40 grand!!! eek

30-40 G's seems extortionate! If someone needs to scratch the high-end fashion watch itch, I believe you can buy a Gucci watch for under a G....

Holy Sh!t, they look terrible! Even the indices look like cheap stamped 'Ratners' jewelry.

I feel sorry for anyone who pays over £300 for any of those.

I can’t possibly imagine a world where they think LV watches are worth more than some very high end Swiss timepieces from very good watch manufacturers, I predict these watches will quietly die a death within a couple of years

The numbers being charged are very much on the crazy side. Remember though, not everyone knows much about watches and will take the Swiss made LV offerings as high end.

How much? Oh, no. No, no, no, no... no.

Awful. Really awful. Appreciate the brand cache and materials used but.... oh, hell no!

I hear that LV suitcases are quite good. So good in fact that the baggage handlers at Heathrow are rumoured to move them straight to the from of the queue for their executive repacking service.

Isn't this all on the back of the owner's son now managing the LV group? I seem to remember he had an interest of sorts in watches.

It's a great strategy, there are more than enough people with zero watch knowledge that are loyal to the brand to part with their cash.
