I like watches with a story, and this Lorus watch was the first thing my future wife (Now wife) bought with her first pay cheque.

The screen is purple and it lit up in a vibrant purple colour. She tells me the screen faded and that she was told by a jeweller that it wasn’t repairable.

I had the idea of surprising her by getting a new module put in. First I need to find one, or find out what module it has.

I don’t want to pull it to bits, but am I right in thinking it will be a generic movement and that the purple comes from a coloured screen in the watch?

I’ve fallen at the first fence. I can’t find anything out about the watch. The serial number doesn’t come up.

The watch dates from around the year 2000.

Any thoughts or advice appreciated.

It reminds me of the Pulsar Spoon watches.

Maybe the Lorus R2341NX9 model would work as a donor? The buttons look right, but not sure about the screen.

What is it youre having trouble with? It's a Lorus Fusion Y737. There are a couple for sale if you Google image search it. Y717 appears to be a bit more common, you might be able to interchange the screens.

Thanks. I’ll Google it. I’m trying to fix it as a surprise.
