Hello,

I’ve had my Oris Aquis for approx. 3 years now and my second strap has just given way.
It gets worn daily but never when swimming or showering etc, to me this is a bit st and I would like to try an alternative make, unfortunately choices seem to be pretty much nonexistent due to the design of the case.

Can anyone recommend an alternative strap or someone who could make one? The metal parts are fine, it’s the leather that gives way.

I know a bracelet is an option but I really don’t want one.

Any advice appreciated.

I’ve got one on the bracelet and my wife bought me a custom stingray strap for it. I think she ordered it from the maker in Canada, but it’s nice. Not cheap, but it’s lasted a few years. This is the company:

Alternatively, what about the Oris rubber strap? Might last longer than their leather strap?

Drop David @ The strap tailor an email. He’ll be able to make you something bespoke if you have colours in mind.
His website will give you an idea.

He’s incredibly knowledgeable and very easy to deal with.

I bought one from Etsy, from somebody in South Korea. It wasn't cheap (£140ish?), but he sent me the wrong colour and when I complained, he told me to fk off.

Quality was excellent, so with a bit of email confirmation, he might be worth a look.

Thanks all, it appears Etsy was the way forward, loads on there.

Just ordered this:

https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1185598830/oris-wa...

But with different stitching, a double stitch each side by the crown like the picture below.

Only £56.00 so it will be interesting to see the quality.

Would you consider a rubber strap albeit you’ve ordered the leather one. Nice to swap them over especially when swimming etc.

It would be nice to have both, but not at £170.00 for the rubber one, I did look…

Could you get an adapter so you don't need to rely on the integrated style straps and buy whatever?

Not sure on how it looks once all set up though!

Oooooh I’d not seen these before despite googling for them. I’ll be getting some and a NATO too.

Thank you

I've not seen those before either. Might be a better option for me than a custom strap...

Will report back if anyone's interested.

Great, I’ll hold fire and wait your feedback.

The Etsy chap is asking all the correct questions, exact measurements of clasp etc, so fingers crossed it will be a well fitting and Nicky made strap.

For Oris which have a non-standard end, and for TAG Heuer, I have always been happy to use replacement rubber straps from their 'Chinese department'.

Oris stamps are non standard. On my oris big crown propilot the ends are slightly curved.

Hmm, they can, but my current rubber knock off is splitting along the groove, but the pucka ones are hilariously expensive!

It is insulting, isn’t it?

For my work watch, which has a straight 20mm end, finding alternatives is easy.

I have used a moody TAG Heuer branded silicone strap previously which lasted well on my old work watch (2000 auto).

I had hoped to find something equally cheap and durable from the Chinese office, for my Oris 1,000m titanium, which has a tricky notched end. frown
