Tudor Pelagos 39

Personally I think these look fantastic. I’ve not yet seen one in person yet, but they solve some of the niggles with the BB58 (eg. fake rivets on the bracelet) and you’re getting a ceramic bezel for £3500. Size (especially thickness) of the full size Pelagos was a big issue for me, and this totally solves it.
Probably shot to the top of the list for a purchase. Probably going to be unobtanium for a bit, but I’m happy to wait.

Conversely I think it takes away many of the things which makes the Pelagos interesting.
I still want a FXD.
This.I still want a FXD.
Bit gutted as I've waited a long time for a 39mm Pelagos.
I'm keen to see one in person, if the bezel and dial are as sunburst as images make them look then I think I'll probably give it a pass as I think my SPB does a similar thing for an awful lot less money.
This will of course force me to look past it and go for the full-size one as it's far more interesting ( mainly the cut out rehaut, auto expanding bracelet and real matte finishing is amazing in reality).
If its properly matte like the original though then this might be the one (when they are actually available to buy).

I bought the LHD, if they had made it in 39 no doubt i'd have gone for it. Having said that I love the LHD for what it is. Personally I think these look fantastic. I used to have a Pelagos LHD and now have an FXD MN21 - frankly I don't care about the lack of helium escape valve/200m depth rating or lack of bracelet being an issue. I rotate between this and my Submariner 124060.I still want a FXD.
The Pelagos 39 is a brilliant addition to the Pelagos range, I've expressed interest with my AD as I was keen on the BB58...only thing missing is the lack of T-fit clasp so the P39 is ideal with LHD aesthetics. £3.5k is 'reasonable' if you compare to the Omega Seamaster 300M at £6k after another price increase which is a joke.

The movement in the Omega is really on another level TBH.amare32 said:
Maybe so. But considering I bought my Sub41 for £6,450 last year, I would certainly hesitate dropping £6k for the SMP. The Omega becomes a £3k watch the second you wear it out of the door.
You cannot compare a largely unobtainable Rolex with a freely available Omega? As an aside the Omega is the far better watch in everything other than 'investment' purposes. The Rolex is basically a £3K watch.amare32 said:

Another reason why it’s such an amazingly good pre-owned buy. It drops 40% immediately post-purchase and won’t go more than 10% lower than that, I mean, unless you wear it whilst welding on a regular basis or something stupid like that.
Fantastic watches used.

Omega 300m £5k
Rolex 124060 £7k
Only one of these watches is hugely overpriced for its intrinsic value. However it's also got a great heritage and currently enjoys a fantastic resale value. Funny how things change though, I bought a Hulk from a high street jewellers at a discount 10 years ago and knew I was still £1k underwater at the time I walked out the store.

I am a long term tudor owner / fan but I have lost the love. Just feels like a piss take with constant new models and celeb marketing.
I have gifted away my Pelagos. My advisor is next. Leaves me with just my old snowflake sub. Don’t think I’ll be buying another. Think it’s time for a used 300m non diver or maybe a zenith.

I like that they made a smaller one for people with smaller wrists and they made it a bit different. The Pelagos is a chonk of a watch.
That being said, I still prefer the LHD. It has quirks but still has that pure tool watch vibe.

And any excuse. On a softer strap it's excellent...even for my small wrists.
I like it from the photos I've seen of it online. The only other current Tudor watch series I like is the BB58, so this Pelagos 39 in Titanium for a similar price to the BB58 has piqued my interest.
I will definitely go and have a close look at one once it becomes available to view at a dealer.
