Just got a quote for a service on my seamaster
A whopping £ 738.60 that seems a bit steep to me or am I out of touch

Loads of omega certified places that will do it for much less than that.

I guess that must be a Chronograph model. I was quoted £450 a few months ago for a non-chrono and also got a 10% discount. They are expensive but the watch genuinely comes back like new and I can just about justify it. Plus it’s a reliable setup.

This is the price list on the omega website https://www.omegawatches.com/en-gb/customer-servic...

I had my Planet ocean done earlier in the year and it came back looking like new. I was amazed.

My Seamaster is over 10 years old, never been serviced.
I wouldn’t pay that much TBH, the watch was only £1400 new back then..

Automatic yes. The Omega price list isn’t so bad though TBH.
I don’t have any marks on the case/strap etc. Do they just do a mechanical service I wonder?
Perhaps I should get that done as keeping it forever.

I had my sea master done at Swiss Time Services , decent service and was less than £400 iirc . It’s only has the one service in 20 years .

It is expensive. Just paid £630 for full service inc. new main spring for my Speedmaster. There are some cheaper options than Omega’s recommended pricing if you shop around - some with mixed reviews. I decided to pay the full whack with an Omega authorised repair place - Perri Watch Repairs - just got a good feel from the owner and other reviews, plus its minutes from my work so easy to drop off/collect. Bit painful cost wise just to have your watch working but as others have said it is meant to come back looking like new. The Speedy has gone up quite a bit in value since I bought it so that helped with the man maths.

If you live in London there is a great little shop in Burlington Arcade where I service my 60 year old Omega Seamaster, SOMLO. They have always been reliable and don’t charge an outrageous amount.

I think I used this post as a recommendation. So pleased with his work on a couple of repairs to my g/f’s omega. Brilliant service.

I’ve just been quoted over £450 for service and battery for the good ladies quartz omega and a time scale of nearly 4 month so I’ll be giving this company a try.

Here is a quartz seamaster. He replaced the escape valve and refurbished the strap. Totally brilliant service (communication, politeness, efficiency and price).

Glad my recommendation worked out. I agree everything you have said. He has advised me to have the next service with Omega as he can’t do the day button on my Speedmaster triple date.
