Identify TAG Heuer watch from serial number

I have an incoming TAG Heuer which I won in a charity raffle, however the only thing I know about it is the serial number. Is there any way to identify the model/variant from the serial number?
Mine is AE713944. Any ideas?
Post a picture of it. I'm sure someone here will be able to identify it.Mine is AE713944. Any ideas?

Needs a bloody good polish......!
Ignore the brand snobs, you like it, that's all that matters.
Merry Christmas!!
To be honest I don't love it. I was going to give it to my Dad for Christmas but he didn't seem keen. I might clean it up, chop it in and put it towards the Nomos I want. Ignore the brand snobs, you like it, that's all that matters.

Went to the Estate Agent today and the sales guy had a black Carrera chronograph. I was like "typical"!

Got it cleaned up a bit and looks a lot better

Chrono 24 seems to have these at about £1000 in mint condition with box/papers down to £500 for a shoddy one without. I think mine is at the lower end so £800 is reasonable. Do you think this is realistic?
Happy New Year!
Wow, you have done a great job cleaning that up. Did you do it yourself? If so how did you polish the scratches out the bezel?Chrono 24 seems to have these at about £1000 in mint condition with box/papers down to £500 for a shoddy one without. I personally think £800 is a little too high. Watchfinder has one for £995, which is marked up due to them being a physical store/business with overheads. Their example also comes with box, papers and a one year warranty. However that doesn't mean the WF example will sell ... Same model that sold on eBay a few days ago - No box or papers - £381:

Essentially, it's worth what someone is willing to pay. I guess it also depends on how fast you want to sell it? As it's in good condition, I'd try £500 and go from there. However it's a really nice looking piece now that it's been re-polished! Congrats on the win!

Thanks for your replies. It did polish up nicely. I didn't do it myself but I didn't want to spend a fortune so I took it to a cheapy little watch repairer in Woking and they did a really good job without charging me the earth. Thinking about the above maybe £800 is a little hopeful. I'd be happy with £500 or so. I'll take some nice photos and list it somewhere and see what happens.

Do you mind me asking how much? I've got a 12 year old aqua racer that isn't quite as badly scratched but certainly needs doing.Thinking about the above maybe £800 is a little hopeful. I'd be happy with £500 or so. I'll take some nice photos and list it somewhere and see what happens.
