Off Topic, but fun, which Watch is the most Porsche-like?
Discussion
Dear All,
I've just purchased an IWC Pilots Chronograph Le Petit Prince. I've been wondering why I like IWC watches so much and think there is a design correlation with Porsche's designs. You all like Porsche design language (I hope), which watch goes with that for you?
Collecting it later in Heathrow (20% off, but they just had a Porshce-like price rise, doh!!!)...
Cheers
Jack

I suppose if you were pedantic you could say that. Still wouldn't spend my money on one! More a fashion watch than a serious collectors timepiece. I would say that most Porsche buyers wouldn't consider a Porsche Design watch to be a desirable timepiece... PD also make coffee cups, hats, kettles etc...
What about other proper watch manufacturers?

Interesting to note you spotted the similarity to your IWC, given that that’s who made the PD watches of that era, and IWC copied the digital chrono display a few years ago, long after the P6000 was introduced via the Eterna manufacturing facility.
You might want to look at the last models made by Eterna, like the P6310 ‘Flat Six’, and P6920 ‘Dashboard’ chronograph.
Porsche Design were/are proper watches, unlike Boss, Kors, etc – heck, even Fossil has their own movement manufacturer in Switzerland, who OEMs to other brands in the same way ETA, Selitta, and Soprod does.

Came in to post this link. There's a reason they both look so similar.... In my mind it's Rolex...
- design largely unchanged for years
- not avantgarde or "different"
- the go to option in the segment for the most number of people
- does its job very well
- the default choice for good reason
- they have a good handle on their legacy and their brand positioning

Rolex and Porsche are so similar it’s ridiculous.
1. Make probably the best all round products in their sector
2. They know how to manipulate the market and keep a constant stream of revenue
3. They charge a little too much for what they are
4. People flip the new models based on crazy demand they have
5. Have made basically the same core product for 50 odd years
6. People go mental for the vintage ones
7. You need to buy a vast amount of s
te from a dealer to make sure you’re top of the list for the special models
Need I go on!
I have a 16600 Sea Dweller, I guess that’s like a 996 Turbo
A little un loved, not as showy as the news ones, but still has a nice spec.

For fun, another Porsche watch is (deep breath) the Chopard Superfast Power Control Porsche 919 HF Edition.

It's got a version of the 8 Hz movement from the Chopard LUC 8HF, which gives it a certainnerd WIS appeal.
I've seen one, and it looks better on the wrist than the photos would suggest.
