Found my new Sub yesterday I hope. It's laid away until Monday. The only fault I could find on this 1996 model was a two small dints on the bezel insert. What price to change this and who can do it in the Midlands? Or should I leave it original, as is the trend with old 911 "restoration" nowadays?

Oh... and one other thing. Is this the correct bracelet end link at the flip-lock side...

Just looked a little "messy" not being a matching full link.

I guess that changed them to look more refined on later models, as with this 2006 one on eBay?...

Thanks all.

Just dropped my Tudor into Rolex HQ, and a new bezel insert is £32.44 (on top of the £285 service). So unless yours is a ceramic one, it should be eye watering.

I just rang the RSC St. James who confirmed the insert change is £31.50 + VAT on a "drop in" basis, with them retaining my old bezel insert.

That's fine. If it worries me that much I'll jump on the train and get it changed. Of course the new one will get damaged within a week of doing this!

I've also confirmed by research that the bracelet is correct and changed to the lower type with slightly different flip-lock end link around 1999.

The one I'm buying is 1996, tritium dial but no apparent fading of markers, box & papers. Local specialist watch shop. Barring any issues I'll collect it this afternoon.

Slightly nervous as it means my fear of having two Rolexes is finally realised. Will I wear my 1995 OP DJ again???

Apologies, I'm all over the place!

Anyway... Ta da!!...

Last serviced 11/14 I discovered when collecting it this afternoon. Now I have immense "watch guilt" spending so much on a piece of metal. But then a car is mostly metal too. I guess the guilt will wear off as I start to enjoy it...
