u boat watches
Discussion
U boat chronograph limited edition owner bought new (in sales) last May .... Wear at weekends and am happy with it but it has quickly lost it's appeal and wish I'd got something else, Quite like the 45/7mm base model eg

but remember the movement will be the same ETA2824-2 movement as a £500 CWard ... The more expensive chronographs some don't look quite right (mine does) but at their price point ... not worth it
I'm happy with mine but can I see me wearing it in 5 years time ... or when i'm 60 or retiring
A Brightbling or Omega will last a lifetime, a U Boat is more limited
Just my opinion of course

I have a Classico 45 , an early one with the quartz movement, I have had it more than ten years i think.
I used to wear it constantly then the TW steel era appeared and people would always say oh I have that watch or so and so has one of the,. I don't wear it as often now but I do still wear it and it still does look good imo.

At one point several years ago I used to hanker after one (too much time spent gawping at the in the reception area of the Dorint!), so I bought a Tauchmeister* just to see whether I really liked them or not.
I have to say, the novelty of the size wore off pretty quickly and I really can't remember the last time I wore it now - years ago. 100% only a weekend/casual watch, at best.
Here's mine on me, from about 8 years ago. It doesn't look quite as huge as I remember it being, but bear in mind that I'm 6'4", and the circumference of my wrist is about 8". The watch is 67mm wide inc the crown:

* does my memory play tricks on me, or was it the PH watch section that used to buy gazillions of Tauchmeister watches from some guy in Shropshire?
